Transfer Gossip: Craig Davies Linked with Chesterfield Return

His level, arguably

Craig Davies....Princy (ha) was yesterday linked with a return to Chesterfield following his free transfer from Bolton Wanderers.

He joined Chesterfield in 2010 from Brighton where he managed to score 23 times in League Two. He left the season after for then Championship side Barnsley and has failed to find the same form since.

The 28 year old Welshman, with his hamstrings made out of Blu-Tac, will no doubt have looked at the impact made by teammate Jermaine Beckford on loan at Preston North End, and should see the drop to League One as a chance to rebuild his name.

One of 13 players released by Wanderers, saving the club a rumoured £5m per year in collective wages, Davies left the club having scored just 11 times in three injury-hit seasons.

We wish him luck, and recommend that he takes the deal on the table at the League One outfit. It just makes sense.
