Now we all remember him as the slightly rubbish Iranian central midfielder who did nowt apart from a couple of tap-ins against Wigan Athletic - which on its own would be the stuff of Bolton Wanderers legend - but it seems that ex-White Andranik Teymourian has found himself in a spot of bother over in his native country.
Andranik, now plying his trade at the wonderfully-named FC Tractor Sazi in the Iranian Pro League, was sent off with his side 3-1 up in a vital title-deciding game.
Tractor Sazi believed that the title was theirs, despite the game eventually finishing 3-3. Their closest rivals, FC Sepahan, were drawing 2-2 which would hand the trophy to Andranik and his mates.
Fans invaded the pitch in wild celebration.....but this was soon cut short.
It turned out that Sepahan had won 2-0, and taken the title themselves. The scenes of joy at Tractor Sazi soon turned into anger and violence broke out in the stands and on the pitch.
Since then a conspiracy has raged with some fans under the belief that the country's government is not quite so keen on the national title being won by a Nothern Iranian club, close to near neighbours and hated rivals Azerbaijan.
I bet he wish he'd had settled for an easier life.
