Ex-Bolton Wanderers defender Tal Ben Haim is reportedly on the verge of a move to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Reports in Israel suggest the defender is currently discussing personal terms with a view to a move.

The defender was released by Guy Luzon in the summer, after playing 37 games for the Addicks. A veteran of some 11 different clubs including Maccabi (where he began his career), Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland, Portsmouth, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers, Standard Liege and finally Charlton Athletic.

A fantastic player for the Whites, he joined in 2004, and made 88 appearances before joining Jose Mourinho's Chelsea on a Bosman free transfer in 2007.

At 33, we wish him the best for his remaining playing days back in his homeland.
