Manager Neil Lennon has already expressed interest in signing Irish players, like when he brought Warrenpoint striker Daniel Hughes to the club for a trail, so it comes as little surprise that more Irish players are being linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers.
The pair in question are Richie Towell and Daryl Hogan, who both play for Dundalk FC, in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
As reported on Talk of the Town, Lennon apparently watched the midfield pair in action last week, which is certainly believable as we know how much scouting Lennon and his team conduct. However, it is unclear just how deep Lennon's interest in the players goes.
Richie Towell is a 23 year-old, goal grabbing midfielder. He's scored 12 goals thus far in Dundalk's campaign including ten in twelve appearances. However, wikipedia would have you believe he's scored quite a few more.
He was also apparently linked to a move to England at the end of last season. The former Hibernian man, who also spent time on trial at Cardiff City, spent two years at Celtic between 2010-12, so is undoubtedly well known to Lennon, which is potentially where the interest stems from.
The other, Daryl Hogan, is a 22 year-old left midfielder, who's also on a rich bane of form as he's scored six goals from out wide already this season. Information on the winger is a little more sparse, but I discovered that he's played for Sligo Rovers and Cork City, and in 2013 was named in the PFAI's Premier Division Team of the Year.
Later in the day, this tweet was directed to @LionofViennaSte :
Just been told dundalk towell and horgan are signing for Bolton towell 300 hundred grand and horgan 200 hundred grand

Take that tweet as you will, but as ever, I'm very skeptical about any transfer that would mean us spending any actual money, but the fact the pair are Irish and one of them used to play under Lennon certainly gives the rumours a little credence. Only time will tell.
