As revealed in The Sun this morning, Bolton are looking at signing former Wigan, Spurs and Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios.
It is thought 30 year old Palacios has been asked to attend Wanderers Pre season training in a bid to prove his fitness.
Bolton are keen to sign a defensive midfielder since Medo and Jay Spearing fell out of favour with Neil Lennon last season and now look destined to move on.
Palacios, is no stranger to the North West, having spent a year at Wigan from 2008 to 2009. Palacios has commanded over £18 million pounds of transfer fees throughout his career.
Palacios also has a vast amount of international experience, having represented Honduras 97 times, scoring 6 goals.
A worry regarding Palacios would be his fitness. He failed to make a single appearance for Stoke City last season, and only made the bench four times. Palacios also failed a medical with Qatar Sports Club last summer.
It is well known Lennon is keen to recruit players without a long history of injury and fitness problems, so it remains to be seen whether Palacios is a viable option.
But he's available on a free and with the lack of transfer funds, who knows?
