As Bolton Wanderers decided to wait until July 1st to open the flood gates on all the announcements, I had actually forgotten about this one, which is surprising considering its importance.
Combative midfielder, Darren Pratley, has put pen to paper on a new three year deal at The Macron Stadium.
It looked as if this wouldn't be the case earlier in the summer, as he was heavily linked to moves away from Lancashire with Ipswich Town and QPR, but thankfully, Neil Lennon has managed to convince him to stay. Which must be a massive relief to the manager, as he's seen Adam Bogdan, Matt Mills and perhaps still Eidur Gudjohnsen, all leave on frees this summer.
Before a hamstring cut his season short last term, Pratley was excellent under Lennon, scoring important goals and being the driving force of our good run of form from midfield.
He'll no doubt be adding to his 117 appearances and, hopefully, nine goals so far for the club, and who knows? He may even do it whilst wearing the captain's armband.
