Supposedly once the subject of a joint £2m from Liverpool for his services and those of Josh Vela, 23 year old ex-Bolton Wanderers midfielder Adam Blakeman has headed North to Scotland, joining Ayr United for the upcoming 2015/16 season.
Blakeman joins former Wanderers coach John Henry at Ayr, whom with worked with during the Owen Coyle era at the Reebok. Henry is assistant to Ian McCall at the Scottish League One side.
A very highly-rated young left back cum wing back, Blakeman made his start in football at the famous Melwood Academy with Liverpool, before joining Bolton before his 8th birthday.A product of the youth system, he made his competitive debut in the League Cup tie at home to Macclesfield Town on 24 August 2011, coming on as a second-half substitute for Marcos Alonso.
He was released by Bolton at the end of the 2012-13 season.[7] He signed for Conference Premier team Hyde in August 2013.
He scored his first goal for the club against Forest Green Rovers in January 2014 before moving North of the border earlier this year.
