Transfer Gossip: Cagliari Stalwart to Solve BWFC's Full-back Woe?

If reports are to be believed.

Well known source for all things Italian football, forzaitalianfootball.com, have today linked Bolton Wanderers with released Cagliari right-back Francesco Pisano.

The Italian full-back, whom QPR are also apparently interested in, has been at hometown club since he made his debut back in 2004. But with Cagliari's relegation to Serie B last season, the Sardinian has not been offered a new contract at Stadio Sant'Elia, as he is not in the club's rebuilding plans.

The 29-year old made 225 appearances for Cagliari in his time at the club, scoring a solitary goal, and now needs to find himself a new place to ply his trade.

The move would make a lot of sense for the Whites, who still don't have a senior right-back at the club. Although, with our well documented financial issues, Pisano, coming from a Serie A club, seems as if he'd be a more expensive option than current trialist Lawrie Wilson.

It seems as if the former Charlton Athletic right back has done enough to earn a contract at the Macron Stadium, and only the delay on Rob Hall's departure from Lancashire is preventing a deal from being offered.

Sigh. How hard can it be to sign a bloody right back?
