There has been quite a few bits of news, stories and speculation flying around today, and whilst none of it is particularly relevant or concerning Bolton Wanderers, they are all worthy of note. So I've collected them all in this little article here, how nice am I?
Firstly, you can rest easy fellow Wanderers, as David Dunn will NOT be joining the club this summer. The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder, who had been heavily linked to the club earlier in the transfer window, has thankfully joined Oldham Athletic. When the rumours first emerged of Bolton potentially signing Dunn, it;s safe to say social media went into a semi-melt down. But at least we won't be going into full capitulation now Dunn has gone else where.
Another player who won't be joining the Whites this summer, or rejoining rather, is Portuguese U19's international Rochinha. The creative midfielder spent the latter half of last season on loan at the Macron Stadium, but after some early promise, he only ever managed to muster fleeting moments of excitement. He has now left Benfica and signed a three year deal with Belgian side Standard Liege.
The internet was awash today with rumours that Ipswich Town were interested in midfielder Josh Vela, with talk suggesting that the Tractor Boys were poised to make a £750K bid. I was never worried that this was remotely true as the origin of the rumour came from footballleagueworld, a website that often starts deranged transfer rumours, which surprisingly enough, never come true. Remember those links with Alfred Finnbogason? Yeah.
Elsewhere, Bolton finally managed to finish in the top ten earlier today. Unfortunately, it was the Telegraph's list of the 10 worst-run football clubs. We came in at 8th, a place higher than Blackburn Rovers. You can see the full list byclicking here.
told a lie earlier, one piece of news is actually very relevant to Bolton fans. The Whites away game fixture against Preston North End has been selected by those really, truly wonderful people at Sky to be a televised game. That means the game at Deep Dale will now kick off at 6PM on Saturday October 31st, rather than 3PM.
