Bolton Wanderers legend Jussi Jaaskelainen, who is 40 years old and has barely played a match in two years, has signed for the great Lancashire side's lesser neighbours Wigan Wanderers, in one last attempt at first-team football.
Bolton's feeder club have added to their growing contingent of washed up, not good enough former Wanderers players, with Jussi joining the likes of Craig Davies, who is probably already on their injury bed, Sanmi Odelusi and old man Kevin McNaughton. The goalkeeper had trained with Crewe Alexandra and Bradford City before joining Wigan.
In my eyes Jussi, who played 474 league games for us, will always be a Bolton hero, but signing for a minnow like Wigan seems to have tested the allegiance of a few other Wanderers supporters:
Genuinely not happy that Jussi has gone to Wigan. He's past his best but you dont play 500 games for a club & then join their rivals #bwfc

My favourite player when I was a kid, my childhood has just been murdered with Jussi joining Wigan #bwfc

BREAKING: Jussi Jaaskelianen has opted to tarnish his career. #BWFC

Surely no Wigan fans can moan at signing Jussi? He's the best keeper they've had in their history.

Although some of the Wigan mong responses are also fairly amusing:
As if we've now got to learn how to spell Jaaskelainen. Has the club not put us through enough in the last year!? #wafc
