EDIT: Sky Sports News are this morning reporting that the bid we've accepted for Tim Ream is £1.4m. Which is sickening.
The sad, sad news has come fellow Bolton Wanderers supporters, or great news, if you're a god damn fool.
HITC, the same site that broke the news of us signing Prince-Désir Gouano, are reporting that Queens Park Rangers have agreed a fee for American defender Tim Ream. Read here.
It's the London club's second bid for our two year in a row Player of the Year winner, after their first big of a pathetic £1m was rejected.
But with Fulham entering the fray for the versatile defender, it seems as if QPR have come back in with a higher bid that has been regrettably accepted.
The news doesn't exactly come as a surprise considering Bolton's dire financial situation, but it especially hurts after what Neil Lennon said in the aftermath of the first bid from QPR:
"I don't want to sell him and the club doesn't want to sell him. Whatever people think about the financial situation I don't want to sell one of my best players. It's important we look to build a squad and Tim is part of that.
He played a lot of games last year and was very consistent. I think he will get better as well. He is important to what we want to do here and there is no real interest in selling"
With the club accepting a bid, I guess I can now only hope that my spirited plea for us to keep Ream, (can be read here), will convince him to stay.
That or Fulham come in with a higher big and it keeps escalating until we get a deserved £5m.
