We Predict the First Six: Eddie

Our first six games predictions are back, this time with Eddie.

So, the season is nearly upon us, and everyone at the LOVS has been asked to predict the scores of Bolton's first six games.

I've never really been great at predicting the results of games, apart from the one time I put on a 12 game accumulator at the bookies that won. That's a story for another day. With Bolton games, when I think we'll lose, we win and so on.

So, here's my predicted scores for the first six games:

1. Bolton Wanderers 1 - 2 Derby County

After spending millions on new players (Darren Bent, Tom Ince and Andi Weimann) and giving a huge wage to an unproven manager in Paul Clement, Derby will be looking to have the best start possible. I don't think they'll be the finished article straight away, but with Neil Lennon admitting we might not have our best team available, I can only see a Derby win.

2. Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Bolton Wanderers

Boro are another team who've spent big money this summer, on returning player Stewart Downing. If Jordan Rhodes seals his move to the Riverside before this game, it'll be a home win for sure. For now, i'll stick with a draw. Games away at Boro have been close in recent seasons, so I can see us scraping a draw with a goal late on from Gary Madine.

3. MK Dons 0 - 2 Bolton Wanderers

Dons have signed some decent young players in Dale Jennings, Sam Gallagher and former Real Madrid Castilla captain Sergio Aguza. But i'm predicting a win for the Trotters, mainly because i'm driving down to Milton Keynes and don't want to be driving home miserable. Had enough of that with Rotherham away last season. I can see Derik scoring in this one to get one over former teammate Aguza.

4. Bolton Wanderers 3 - 1 Nottingham Forest

With the club reducing ticket prices for this game, I can only see a home win. A bumper crowd, mixed with the return of our former manager and captain, will make for a cracking game. I can see Matt Mills either scoring an own goal or getting sent off. I am hoping Michail Antonio has an off game, he absolutely mauled us in the reverse fixture last season.

5. Blackburn Rovers 1 - 2 Bolton Wanderers

Blackburn have lost key players in Tom Cairney and Rudy Gestede, as well as the possibility of Jordan Rhodes following them out the door. It's been nearly three years since a Wanderers win at Ewood Park, so it's about time that changes. I think Bolton will take a two goal lead before conceding late on to set up a nervy last few minutes.

6. Bolton Wanderers 1 - 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

After three wins on the trot, I think Bolton will return to conceding a typical last minute goal. Despite losing Bakary Sako, Wolves still have Nouha Dicko and former Bolton player Benik Afobe to offer a sufficient goal threat. Heskey to score his first of the season before Afobe silences the Macron with a scrappy last minute equaliser, after some calamitous Bolton defending.

So, I'm predicting Bolton to have 11 points after the opening six games, after 3 wins, 2 draws and a solitary defeat.
