Match Preview: Blackburn Rovers v Bolton Wanderers

In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all.

Bolton Wanderers travel to the unholy land this evening to face struggling League One bound Blackburn Rovers.

Neil Lennon takes his men North in search of food and water, or three points, with last Saturday's excellent performance against Dougie Freedman's Nottingham Forest still ringing in their ears.

Rovers, currently 22nd in the table, are without a win in their four games thus far - earning two draws and two defeats, to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton.

With jokers such as Nathan Delfouneso in the squad accompanying want-away target man Jordan Rhodes, the scene is set for Wanderers to strike and return to the promised land with three points in their greasy mitts. Ex-White Danny Guthrie is also set to start.

Blackburn, undoubtedly missing loanees Jay Spearing and Alex Baptiste were forced to release a statement last week confirming that Gary Bowyer is still their manager following widespread speculation that he had been relieved of his duties after their latest piss-poor defeat.

Wanderers will likely start with the same XI that began the game against Forest last Saturday, such was the excellence of the all-round performance. That means that Spearing will find himself on the bench whilst Neil Danns continues his mystifying run in the centre of midfield. Prince and Dorian Dervite will wear their raspberry berets in the centre of defence - hopefully a symbol of defensive solidity. Geddit?

Ben Amos will be the rock upon which our foundation is built - that means that Gary Madine will lead the line - hopefully with a goal in his game - taking the game to Grant Hanley and clowns like new Spanish goalkeeper David Raya - no, me neither.

I've had a quick look through Blackburn's squad and I barely recognise anyone as a threat. This will be a piece of piss.

"Tonight is the night
Bright lights, hype crowd
Yeah, we came to throw down
Everybody get loud
Tonight is the night
A-list, can't miss
When we burn it to the ground
Everybody get down
Tonight is the night
We stayed grindin' while our fame kept risin'
Steady climbin', now we on top
It's not something you get, it's just something we got
Cause I don't know if you know
If you know we playin' or not, tonight
Lights flashin'
When we step in the place
And you can feel the raw excitement
From the look on their face
It's like the prize right in front of my eyes to take
And the sky's the limit, got no time to waste
Tonight's the big go
Strike quick but creep slow
The competition is absent
The moment that we show
Count down from 3 go
Press X to reload
Yet they still try to topple the kingdom that we own
Outnumbered but outgunnin'
We're fearless and crowd stunnin'
Never an error on record
There's no one to protect yah
And we would still be right here
If all the money was burned
But we stay bumpin' in your ear
Cause the money was earned, yo
You can find us climbing settin' the bar
Or you could find us red carpet when we hittin' it hard
Cause the truth is you can find us wherever you are
Just look up, we're flying high with the stars cause...
Tonight is the night"
