Blackburn 0-0 Bolton Wanderers: MOTM - Ben Amos

It wasn't pretty, but our goalkeeper is summat special

So last night Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers played out a passionate if somewhat turgid goalless draw at Ewood Park in a bottom-of-the-table Championship clash.

Several Bolton performers stood out - Neil Danns and Liam Feeney were slightly less-than-shit compared to usual, whilst Dean Moxey recovered from a woeful first half to end up being a solid six out of ten performer.

My man of the match however, is goalkeeper Ben Amos.

The former Manchester United man was very comfortable thoughout - he didn't drop a single catch, he stopped everything that Rovers could throw at him - and again, he looked extremely comfortable.

His performance wasn't the flashiest, and barely warranted a mention from the Sky morons in the studio, but those who know football will know just how cool and composed his performance was.

Gone are the slightly shaky days of Adam Bogdan, and gone are the very definitely shaky days of Andy Lonergan - instead we have a solid goalkeeper who will probably make a couple of mistakes all season - at the most.

We should be very proud and grateful to have him on board.
