Bolton Wanderers Predictions: Matt

To go along side our predictions for the football season in general, the LoVS Team will also be giving their Bolton Wanderers predictions for the coming Championship season. And just like with the football predictions, come the end of this year we will see who did best.

Here goes Matt's wild stabs in the dark:

How do you see the season going?

Unspectacular with a couple of high points. The team is not improving at the rate the others are. Even mid-table Championship teams are happy to be splashing £2,000,000 on a single player. That said we do already have some very good players. If Mark Davies and Wheater stayed fit (never happen) we could be high enough to do a challenge for the play-offs. Without the sickly two consistently? Safely mid-table.

Who will be our top goal scorer and why?

Zach Clough. Showed how prolific he can be last year. Added to which he has the perfect foil in Madine this year. Will comfortably make double figures.

Who will be our best player and why?

Tempted to say Clough again. I shall however go for...Nah sod it, Clough. I can see him doing a lot of the making and scoring this year. Vela, Pratley and Ream will all be up there in terms of performances, but Clough will likely be the cream of the crop.

Who will be our worst player and why?

I don't know why, but I have an irrational snootiness when it comes to Dobbie. I think the fact he was on loan at a League One club last year and didn't stand out would probably explain it. Despite this, he's had a good pre-season. Wilson who is also soon to sign I also have my doubts. Get the feeling we wouldn't look at him with a smidgen more cash at our disposal. Going to say Wilson out of the two.

Who will be booked the most?

Going to say Madine. He will channel Kevin Davies through the number 14 shirt and be maligned by referees and players alike.

Who will get sent off the most?

I'm going to say Deirk. He showed he is no retiring flower when it comes to conflict in one of our pre-season games early in the summer. He also seems to be getting a fair bit of game time with Dervite, who although has had a solid pre-season, can be liable to mistakes. Derik being fast will no doubt have to cover a lot of these, some of which are bound to go wrong.

How many injuries will we have throughout the season?

Over 9000.

Will Neil Lennon still be our manager come the end of the season?

I don't think so. Can see many clubs come January wanting to take him. He's gone from upbeat to noticeably annoyed in his post-match interviews regarding signings. Think someone promised him jam tomorrow which hasn't come. Bound to take a better offer.

Will we still have Zach Clough come the end of the season?

Yes. He will be sold at the end however for peanuts, as he'll only have a year left on his contract.

Which old, semi-legendary player will we sign in Winter?

Where will we finish and why?

16th. Good core squad, but depth too much of an issue to go any higher.
