Although it was pretty much already confirmed by Neil Lennon and by club photos of a recent training session, Bolton Wanderers have now officially announced the signing of Prince-Désir Gouano on a season long loan.
The 21-year old defender, who is comfortable in a back three or four, has joined from Serie A side Atalanta. He spent last season on loan at Portuguese outfit Rio Ave, and impressed in his 26 appearances there, some of which coming in the Europa League.
He joined Juventus in 2011 after departing from French side Le Harve, and then was sent out on loan to Dutch team RKC Waalwijk, before being given to Atalanta in exchange for another play.
The Whites now must wait for international clearance before Prince, as it gloriously says on the back of his shirt, can make his debut.
Prince has been allocated #2 jersey for the entirety of his stay.
With the #2 being given to another player, does that mean the deal to bring Francesco Pisano to the Macron is dead in the water? Or do we not take credence from squad numbers?
Also, whilst the signing of this promising defender who remains largely an unknown is exciting, is anyone else worried that it may make room for a certain Tim Ream to leave the club?
Lets hope not.
Let me know your thoughts below the dotted line.
