Andy Kellett signs for Wigan Athletic

The only bit of deadline day action.

After another deadline day came and went with out so much a peep from Bolton Wanderers it was that man, Andy Kellett, who once again brought the biggest/only surprise once the window had apparently shut.

The academy graduate was joining Manchester United on loan this time, however, but he did join another local rival.

League One side Wigan Athletic continue to live up to their new name, Wigan Wanderers, as they signed their fifth former White of the summer with acquisition of the 21-year old, who can play either at left back or on the wing.

He joins former Wanderers legend Jussi Jaaskelainen, and lesser players Craig Davies, Kevin McNaughton and Sanmi Odelusi at the DW Stadium.

The youngster, who's been at the club since he was 7-years old and made four senior appearances, has signed a three-year deal with Wigan, and cost an undisclosed fee.

If it's anything more than £50k I'll be astounded.

The move to sell Kellett has split the Bolton Wanderers fanbase. With some people annoyed Kellett was never given a proper chance at the Macron Stadium and that we've sold another youth prospect for practically nothing.

However, others trust Lennon's judgement in the player. Kellett has clearly not impressed Lennon at all since the manager has been at the club, other wise he would have been given a proper chance just like the likes of Tom Walker, Zach Clough and Josh Vela were given.

We here at Lion of Vienna Suite wish Andy the best of luck in his new venture, we just obviously don't want him to do too well.
