As those who listened to Neil Lennon's appearance on Radio Manchester Sport last night learned, Bolton Wanderers are supposedly on the brink of signing a much-needed goalscorer.
Social media has been alive with rumour ever since, with the consensus being that the man in question is Dutch striker Marvin Emnes, currently out of favour with Premier League side Swansea City.
Emnes began his career with hometown club Sparta Rotterdam, where his energetic and fast-paced attacking style earned him a move to England with Middlesbrough for £3.2m in July 2008.
He spent two underwhelming seasons on Teesside before joining Swansea City on loan with two spells over two seasons from 2010 onwards. He impressed in Wales, scoring three times in 14 games which was enough to make the move permanent in 2014.
His career statistics show a return of 46 goals in 251 games which whilst not particularly prolific means that he is available and that he will be looking to impress ahead of this summer when his Swansea contract expires.
