Bolton Wanderers' misfiring strikeforce will be looking to get back on track in a strange early season friendly against Motherwell tomorrow - a match that has been arranged as a testimonial for captain Keith Lasley.
Manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that new signing Derik Osede will make an appearance in the game at Fir Park, while new full-backs Francesco Pisano and Jose Manuel Casado are also likely to figure in what is expected to be a near full strength Wanderers side.
Keith Lasley is a 35-year-old midfielder who began his career with Motherwell back in 1999, making 107 appearances before moving to Plymouth Argyle in 2004. After 32 appearances on the south coast of England, and eight games on loan at Blackpool, Lasley made the return north to Motherwell in 2006 and has remained there ever since - racking up another 319 appearances for the club, taking him to a grand total of 428 appearances for Motherwell. He became club captain at the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
Motherwell made a good start to the Scottish Premier League season with a 1-0 victory at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, only to suffer four successive league defeats. They steadied the ship with a 1-0 home win over Kilmarnock on Saturday and are currently sixth in SPL.
The hosts' squad includes Celtic and Middlesbrough's former striker Scott McDonald, former Scotland defenders Stephen Pearson and Stephen McManus, and lower English leagues journeyman Lionel Ainsworth, who has had no less than 13 clubs and is still only 27. Motherwell's first choice goalkeeper is Dan Twardzik, the elder brother of Bolton midfielder Filip.
If anyone happens to be up in Scotland this weekend the club has some very decent deals on beer in their Centenary Suite!
