So it was that Phil Parkinson's Bolton Wanderers got back to winning ways with a solid, if unspectacular performance away at Swindon Town.
In a game of missed chances, yet again the Wanderers frontmen disappointed. Gary Madine won lots of headers, but failed to find a teammate with most. Zach Clough was his usual tidy self on the ball but fluffed his big chance, whilst the less said about Jamie Proctor the better.
So it was that our saviour came in an unfamiliar form.
It's a name that will forevermore provide Bolton fans with a sense of 'I was there', much along the lines of John McGinlay's famous last goal ever at Burnden Park, or Alan Thompson's historic first ever goal at the Reebok Stadium.
If I was to say that our most effective and dangerous forward was a Swindon Town player, would you believe me?
Well question no more. My choice for Man of the Match is our goalscorer and hero, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill.
We salute you.
