Bolton Wanderers haven't made the trip to Northampton Town since way back in February 1990. Furthermore, this afternoon's clash at Sixfields will only be the 12th ever meeting between the two sides.
Wanderers' last visit to Northampton saw them come away with a 2-0 victory, which would go down very nicely today. Although Northampton did win the last meeting, a 2-1 victory at Reebok Stadium in the second round of the League Cup in 2008. Bolton and Northampton both have five victories from previous encounters, with one draw.
The hosts are likely to line up in a 4-5-1 formation with Alex Revell playing the sole striker role. Former Bolton man Matty Taylor plays in midfield and the pace of former Manchester United winger Kenji Gorré, who's on loan from Swansea City, could be a threat. They also have two decent midfield options left on the bench in the form of Alfie Potter and Harry Beautyman.
Wanderers name an unchanged starting lineup from the one that stumbled to a 1-0 victory over Coventry City on Tuesday evening.
