The run continues.

Bolton Wanderers made it three wins from three, and Zach Clough continued his stellar form with another delightful finish to earn Wanderers another victory.

Northampton Town welcomed their more glamorous opponents with great warmth, but were blown away by an in-form Bolton side who played some wonderful football in the first half.

After clean sheet wins against Millwall and Coventry City, our 1300 away fans saw yet another clean sheet as the meanest defence in the whole country again shut out the opposition with great style.

This was our eighth win in nine games and saw us move into the automatic promotion places behind Scunthorpe United.

Northampton had the odd moment, with David Buchanan's shot on the turn testing an impressive Ben Alnwick whilst former Bolton clogger Matt Taylor smashed a shot against the post following a pass from Real Housewives of Cheshire alumni Kenji Gorre.

Our in-form winger Sammy Ameobi also had a series of long range efforts blocked by a determined Northampton defence, whilst former Liverpool man Jay Spearing shot over the bar when well placed..

The home side pushed on in the latter stages, with Richards having another close range effort scrambled clear while Taylor was twice denied by Alnwick, who also thwarted substitute John-Joe O'Toole.

It was another solid and productive away day for Phil Parkinson's men.
