New, comments

Another day, another defeat

It was a spirited Bolton Wanderers performance against Burnley, but in the end we still lost, and head towards relegation.

Let's get into the Player Ratings, then:

Paul Rachubka - 7

Had little to do, and did well with what he had to face.

Felt that he could perhaps have turned Andre Gray's initial shot further away, but that may be nitpicking.

Josh Vela - 6

Better than recent weeks.

An increased happiness to use his left peg may or may not be a direct result of my point from last week, and I like to think it was.

Rob Holding - 8

Gets better every week. Suffered a little against Gray's pace but was otherwise assured and calm in the manner to which we've become accustomed.

Give him a new contract, and make him captain.

Derik Osede Prieto - 9

A superb performance and one that earned him my MOTM award (see last night's post).

Really solid on and off the ball - despite his tough opponent.

Dean Moxey - 7

Another solid game from a player who will be disappointed if he's not in the top two when it comes to the end of season awards.

Backed up well going forward, and was tough in the tackle. Seems to have learned from the mistakes from the previous week.

Jay Spearing - 6

A quiet game.

Was dominated by Joey Barton physically and lost the ball in the build-up to Burnley's winner.

(Wellington Silva on for Spearing)

Should have been brought on after we scored our goal. Would have stretched their back line as they went in search of an equaliser.

Fuck you Neil Lennon.

Mark Davies - 6

Another quiet game from Davies.

Floated around the pitch but really didn't do too much of anything.

Darren Pratley - 6

Same as above.

Played, but you wouldn't know it.

Liam Feeney - 9

Playing on the left really suits him.

Crosses better when on his left too - it's when he cuts back on his right that we have problems. His workrate was better - the dishonest nature of his recent graft was gone, and his performance was all the better for it. By miles his best ever game in a Bolton Wanderers shirt.

Zach Clough - 6

Should have scored in the first half, instead scooping the ball high over Tom Heaton's bar.

Otherwise quiet.

(Stephen Dobbie on for Clough) - 0

Fuck. Off.

Emile Heskey - 0

Pointless exercise.

(Gary Madine on for Heskey) - 3

Gets three for his mis-hit shot that was tapped in by Feeney, but otherwise his usual shambolic self. Truly up there in the pantheon of 'shit Bolton strikers'.

I know he reads these ratings so here's my message - FUCK YOU GARY, YOU'RE SHIT AND WE ALL HATE YOU FUCKING LOADS YOU BELL.

Manager - Neil Lennon - 5

Started Heskey, so you lose points there.

Shuffled Feeney around up top when he was great on the left, so you lose points there.

Didn't bring Wellington on in time, so you lose points there.

Bring on Phil Brown.
