Transfer Gossip: Zach Clough wanted by Aston Villa

Would Zach really want to leave Bolton for another failing club?

According to the always reliable Daily Mail, Bolton Wanderers starlet Zach Clough is being lined up by Premier League strugglers Aston Villa for a summer move. Sounds like a load of bs.

Anyway, the paper states:

''Aston Villa are showing interest in pint-size Bolton forward Zach Clough.

The 20-year-old was the subject of a failed £2million bid from Bristol City in January, which could have risen to £3m, and is wanted by several Championship sides.

Villa are scouting potential targets for the summer with relegation in mind and want players who can handle the Championship.

The club's head of recruitment Paddy Riley was at Bolton's defeat to Birmingham City on Tuesday and has added Clough to their summer wishlist.''

Would Clough really want to join another struggling club? Villa have their own problems with ownership and a squad that has struggled to acclimatise to the English game.

Bolton, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, Fulham FC and Blackburn Rovers have failed to adjust to life in the Championship. I've no doubt Villa will probably do the same.

Really, would Clough really think a move to Aston Villa is the best thing?
