Bolton Wanderers welcome Preston North End to the Macron Stadium this afternoon, in the first match of the confirmed Sports Shield era.

Dean Holdsworth and co will be looking on for this Lancashire derby, hopeful that the new ownership will inspire a change in fortunes on the field at Bolton.

Neil Lennon makes one change to the side that rescued a last minute draw against Ipswich Town, with Jay Spearing strangely missing from the squad and replaced by Gary Madine. That appears to suggest Bolton will revert to a more traditional 4-4-2, with Mark Davies 'providing width' from the left.

Preston also look to be playing 4-4-2, but I've barely heard of half their team. In Jordan Hugill they have a striker that's never scored for the club, partnered by Callum Robinson, who has scored two. Ominous for Bolton, although it's worth nothing that we are unbeaten in our last seven games against Preston, going back to 1992.

Follow all the action from the Macron in the Comments section below, and let us know your thoughts on all things Wanderers related in the same place.
