Bolton Wanderers 1-2 Preston North End MOTM: Derik Osede

Jonny thinks the curly haired Spaniard was the best of a bad bunch on Saturday afternoon

Will we still have Derik in our ranks next season? Who knows

Bolton were shit on Saturday. Really shit. If you attended the game you'll know that there weren't many people deserving of a man of the match award, let alone the coveted Lion Of Vienna Suite gong, so I was hard pressed to find someone to give it to. However, out of the pile of spineless shitbags that ran around a field against Preston there was a glimmer of hope, and his name is Derik Osede.

The partnership he and Rob Holding look to have forged at the heart of our defence is one that excites me greatly. Derik is obviously the more experienced of the two and I think he's adjusted to English football pretty well, considering he hasn't played many games this season. How Dorian Dervite was ever preferred to Derik I will honestly never know, as his pace, composure and overall giving-a-fuck attitude placed him head and shoulders above everyone else yesterday - and not for the first time in recent weeks either.

I don't really want to get too sentimental over the Osede/Holding love story because we're probably going to lose them both before we start life in League One next season, but let's all just take a moment to reflect on how good they both are in such a God awful team.
