Bolton Wanderers drew 0-0 with Charlton Athletic.
It was pretty rubbish - no, that's too generous, it was dire.
The one positive that came from the whole mess was the performance of the returning Oscar Threlkeld.
I was personally a bit disappointed that he wasn't given a chance to shine in midfield which, given the glowing reports of his time there on loan at Plymouth Argyle seemed a bit weird - and even more so following the performances of Josh Vela and Darren Pratley.
That said, he was by far our most dangerous attacking outlet and I include Zach Clough and (don't laugh) Emile Heskey in that group.
He was eager, energetic and dynamic in getting forward - putting in two or three excellent crosses which didn't receive the care and attention from the forwards that they required.
I liked how snappy he was in the tackle, too. It was a game of few positives, but with more performances like this under his belt then I see no reason why he cannot be a key member of the squad going into next season.
I just want to see him midfield. Jimmy, make it happen.
