Our Euro 2016 Predictions: Jamie

Someone who has only predicted two matches right all season is next up to predict the Euros...

How far will England get? I feel like this England team could do something, by that I mean a semi-final or something. But let’s be honest we will probably lose in the quarter-finals to Portugal on penalties.

Your England Starting XI: Joe Hart, Ryan Bertrand, Gary Cahill, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling (4-3-3).

Who'll score more, Kane or Vardy? That’s a tough call; I think Vardy will edge it.

Will Hodgson remain as manager after the Euros? If we reach the semis then yes, anything less and he may not. The easiest qualifying group possible undoubtedly papered over the cracks in this England team but I do feel Hodgson is going a good job and should be kept on. A bit of consistency at managerial level could be a good thing going forward. Also, who would you replace him with? Though having said that Owen Coyle is available…

How far will Wales get? I think they should get out of the group with England. I have the horrid vision of them topping it after beating England… I think the quarters are realistic, but they should look at Greece from 2004 and believe they can go far.

Top Scorer: Gareth Bale, I wasn’t aware that they had another person who could score goals.

How far will Ireland get? It’s a tough group to escape and it’s hard to see the Irish managing to pull it off.

Top Scorer: No idea at all.

How far will Northern Ireland get? Cannot see them getting out of their group , the other three teams will be far too strong.

Top Scorer: Kyle Lafferty seems to like scoring for them.

Competition Winners: I got asked this a couple of months ago and said France who are also the bookies favourites. I don’t think there is a stand out team this time around though and feel there are a few nations who may feel they have a good shot.

Runner Up: Maybe Germany, they are normally their or their abouts after-all.

Final Four: Let’s say that England will complete the final four along with Belgium.

Surprise Team: Wales, people won’t back them to get far but I think they could be a surprise package despite their obvious flaw of relying on Bale.

Flop Team: As the only big teams I’m not backing for a semi it has to be Spain or Italy and I will say Spain

-

Second Team: I have Welsh blood and have no reason to hate their football team, unlike the rugby lot…

Any successes for the home nations? Depends how you term success. England in the semis would be a success for me with a fairly young and inexperienced squad. I think Wales can escape the group which for them at their first international tournament since the beginning of time would surely be seen as a good result, quarters could be realistic depending on who they draw. I can’t see either half of Ireland getting out of the group but I don’t think either will see that as a failure.

Office sweepstake team? I went and pulled Wales out which I'm not at all pissed off about...

Golden Boot: Thomas Muller will probably score a load.

Surprise Player: Marcus Rashford, this might sound like I’m jumping on the bandwagon but I was really impressed by the youngster against Australia so maybe he can make an impact few would have expected.

Flop Player: Wayne Rooney, when does he not at a tournament?

First Pundit to Say Something Stupid: Whoever speaks first in the opening game…

When will Liam stop supporting Ireland and start supporting England again? If I were him I would go with whichever goes furthest.

Your own bonus prediction: England to not keep a single clean sheet.
