As the excitement builds around what should be a competitive European Championships, birthday boy Liam gives his view as a supporter of both England and the Republic of Ireland.

How far will England get? Semi-Finals - In Roy Hodgson, England have a proper manager despite the affable profile portrayed by many. That coupled with a weaker Spain & Germany mean for me, England can go far

Your England Starting XI:  4-2-3-1: Hart, Clyne, Rose, Cahill, Stones, Dier, Wilshire, Rooney, Lallana, Vardy, Kane
Who'll score more, Kane or Vardy? Kane, primarily as he will play as centre-forward whereas Vardy is likely to feature on the left. Harry Kane is the best striker England have had since Shearer and his sheer hunger to score have given England a very dangerous player.

Will Hodgson remain as manager after the Euros? I would have thought so, he hasn't had anywhere near the scandal of previous England managers, I can't see anything but progress for England under him.

How far will Wales get? Round of 16

Top Scorer: Gareth Bale

How far will Ireland get?
Group Stages - Ireland have had rotten luck in the draw for both the qualifiers and the finals and I can't see them getting out the group unless as a third place. A lesser manager and Ireland wouldn't even be in this competition and as much I want them to, they won't progress.

Top Scorer: Shane Long

Competition Winners:
France's to lose for me, although if they lose their first game, they could easily capitulate. Deschamps like Blanc before him seems to be clinging to sanity in a quite divided French dressing room.

Runner Up:
Germany - Another strong showing from a talented German side

Final Four: Germany, Spain, England and Croatia

Surprise Team: Croatia - Modric in the form of his life along side Rakitic makes the Croats very dangerous.

Flop Team: Spain - The problems for the World Cup haven't been address, simply ignored

Any successes for the home nations? I expect strong showings from England and Wales.

Golden Boot: Antoine Griezmann

Surprise Player: Granit Xhaka - Has some easier early games to allow him to find his feet.

Flop Player: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

First Pundit to Say Something Stupid: Literally anything Mark Bright says

When will Liam stop supporting Ireland and start supporting England again? If they are out before England

Your own bonus prediction: A France game to not sell out
