Bolton Wanderers have given Queens Park Rangers permission to talk to Darren Pratley about a move to the Championship outfit. The Wanderers captain signed a new contract last summer on terms which as it transpired were unsustainable for the club. This issue has of course been exacerbated by the clubs relegation and moving him on is now of paramount importance as Wanderers look to rebuild.

The Bolton News report on this indicates that it is unclear at this point whether there would be a fee involved for the deal. But right now it would be fantastic for Bolton to remove some if not all of his wage as the club looks to make further additions to the squad prior to the start of the new League One season. With Bolton currently having a number of options in central midfield with the likes of Jay Spearing and Josh Vela it is a logical area to lose a player in that area in order to strengthen elsewhere.

QPR are also looking to reduce their wage bill having moved on Leroy Fer to Premier League Swansea City, Pratley’s former club. Since arriving at the club on a free transfer under Owen Coyle Pratley has had a torrid time with two relegations and a general inability to play at a consistent standard.

QPR have made a lot of questionable signings in recent years but Pratley could well top the list if he keeps on playing how he has at Bolton. There is no doubt that this news will be met with much celebration in the Bolton fan base, but now the question is does anyone want Mark Davies? Seriously please someone take him too.
