The football season is now only a few days away, and as such the LoVS writers have been tasked to put their credibility on the line and give their predictions for the year of football to come. Once the season is over and all the results are in, we'll gather them all up and see who did best!

Last season, I got such things as Burton being promoted and Sheffield Wednesday getting to the Play-Off final right. I also predicted that Leicester City would get relegated (sorry Claudio). Anyway, here are my predictions for the 2016/2017 season:

League One Winners: Millwall

Second Place: Charlton

Play-off winners: Bolton Wanderers (why not)

Three relegated teams: Chesterfield, Shrewsbury, Oldham Athletic

Top Goal Scorer: Paddy Madden

Best Player: Zach Clough

Surprise Team: AFC Wimbledon

Championship Winners: Newcastle by a country mile. Wouldn't be surprised if they got 100+ points. They've spent £42 million, it's promotion or bust.

Second Place: Aston Villa

Play-off Winners: Sheffield Wednesday

Three relegated teams: Reading, Fulham and Barnsley

Premier League Winners: Manchester City

2nd, 3rd, 4th: Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea

Three relegated teams: Hull City, Burnley and Crystal Palace

Top goal scorer: Surely Sergio Aguero

Best player: Eden Hazard

New signing who will flop: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

New signing who will succeed: Ilkay Gundogan

Surprise Team: Bournemouth

Champions League Winner: A Manchester club

Runner Up: A Madrid club

Top Goal scorer: Cristiano Ronaldo

La Liga Winners: Barcelona

Bundesliga Winners: Bayern Munich

Serie A Winners: Juventus

Ligue 1 Winners: PSG

Eredivise Winners: Ajax

Who'll score more, Messi or Ronaldo?: Messi

Your own bonus prediction: Wigan to stay up on the last day of the season like they always do.
