Our Bolton Wanderers Predictions: Eddie

Eddie tries to do predict how Wanderers will do this season

With the start of the 2016/2017 fast approaching, it's time to put my neck on the line again and try to predict how Bolton Wanderers will fare this season.

Your thoughts on Bolton’s summer activity: They've looked good. Performances have improved, and i've been happy with the signings Phil Parkinson has made. It would have been a bonus to get rid of some of the higher earners though.

Is Phil Parkinson the man to arrest Bolton’s decline? I think so. Parkinson looks to be the best appointment the club have made since Big Sam. Instead of going for the new kid on the block or the 'big name', Bolton hired a coach with loads of experience at this level, and I'm sure if anyone can stop the rot, Phil Parkinson is the person to do so.

What else do you think we need before the season starts? Another winger would be great, someone like Mustapha Carayol who has been linked with a loan move. I also think the club could do with another full back, and I hope the club can get either Neal Eardley or Frazer Richardson (or both) done before the Sheffield United game on Saturday.

How do you see the season going? Hopefully well. I'm feeling surprisingly optimistic, and I think there's enough talent in the team to push for at least the Play-Offs.

Who will be our top goal scorer and why? Zach Clough. He was last season so I think he'll do it again. Chris Taylor, Jamie Proctor and Gary Madine have all hit double figures whilst playing in League One, so hopefully there will be some competition for the golden boot.

Who will be our best player and why? Mark Beevers. The defence was dreadful last season, and I'm sure bringing in the experience of someone like Beevers will shore up the defence. I also think this might be the season Josh Vela shines at centre mid.

Who will be our worst player and why? Hopefully nobody. I'm pleading the fifth.

Who will be booked the most? Jay Spearing

Who will get sent off the most? Dorian Dervite

How many injuries will we have throughout the season? Too many to count

Will Phil Parkinson still be our manager come the end of the season? Absolutely

Will we still have Zach Clough come the end of the season? Yes

Which old, semi-legendary player will we sign in Winter? Well Eidur Gudjohnsen has just left Molde...

Where will we finish and why? Top six. If Parkinson can keep the players organised and they're consistently firing on all cylinders, there's no reason why Wanderers can't be up there fighting for promotion.
