In what was, ultimately, one of the more disappointing afternoons of this otherwise most enjoyable seasons, Bolton Wanderers went down to a last minute Swindon Town sucker punch at the Reebok yesterday.
We had below-par performances from players who had, to date, been superb for us and whilst we won't castigate them too much for that - everyone has an off day - we still have to award a Man of the Match.
It was a tough choice, but I have decided to make it a co-MOTM award this week - and so congratulations go to the centre half partnership of Mark Beevers and David Wheater.
Despite us conceding two goals, the pairing made sure it wasn't more than that. Where we struggled to cope with Swindon's quick counters, Beevers and Wheater made countless vital blocks and it is a shame that their teammates didn't take a lead from their performance.
So, whilst we might have our heads down after the game, these two can certainly hold theirs up high.
