Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers rival Newcastle United for Serie B defender

According to reports in The Sun and Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Bolton Wanderers are rivaling Newcastle United in the race to sign 20 year old Cheick Keita.

The article in the Sun states:

"NEWCASTLE are weighing up a deal for Mali whizkid Cheick Keita after his stunning start in Italian football.

The ex-Monaco left-back, 20, had scouts flocking to Virtus Entella in Serie B after breaking into the first team.

Bolton also watched him last week and Crystal Palace are monitoring his situation.

Juventus and Roma have been alerted to his performances and French clubs Angers and Le Havre are also willing to take him."

Cheick Keita has played 16 times for Virtus Entella this season.
