Transfer Gossip : Sammyobi Recalled By Newcastle United

It is the news that we all feared - Championship bigwigs Newcastle United have recalled Sammy Ameobi from his loan spell with Bolton Wanderers.

The player’s future with Newcastle looked all but over just a few weeks ago when Bolton made it clear they wanted to extend his stint with the League One club.

Manager Rafa Benitez, despite loaning Ameobi out in the first place - where, let's not forget - he has thrived - has decided to recall the winger and bring him back to the North East.

With Newcastle losing fellow midfielders Mohamed Diame and Christian Atsu to the African Cup of Nations, Benitez has decided to recall Ameobi leaving Bolton short on attacking options.

Whether the clubs can strike another deal before the end of January remains to be seen, but I have really enjoyed his time at the club and hope that we can bring him back before long.
