Welcome back to the fourth episode in this look back at players who have had pelters from me over the years. I've named the series 'Let's Say Something Nice About.....' in order to break the cycle of cynicism, snarkiness and mean comments.
Week five brings us to Dorian Dervite.
As far as Bolton Wanderers go, the pit of shitness is deep, and bottoms out with Abdouleye Meite who remains one of the worst footballers in world history, as well as the worst centre half we've ever had.
The same cannot be said of Dorian Dervite.
A former Villarreal and Tottenham Hotspur central defender, he is a classy ball-playing centre half who loves nothing more than to venture out of the back four with the ball at his feet linking play between the defensive line and his more attacking colleagues further up the field.
A trusted member of Neil Lennon's Bolton Wanderers side, Dervite has been beset by injury of late and it goes without saying that his departure would leave us significantly short of cover at the back.
Dorian, it's been an up and down ride, but thank you for your efforts. From the bottom of my heart.
