Welcome to the fifth episode in which I go back in time and be nice about someone whom I was previously a bit mean about.
We've seen reappraisals of Gary Madine, Darren Pratley, Liam Trotter, Jamie Proctor and Dorian Dervite - now it's the turn of one Kevin Nolan.
As far as Bolton Wanderers players go, Nolan remains incredibly popular and is still revered amongst the supporters. So much so that at the ripe age of 34 you can always find at least one tweet per day asking if we should re-sign the Liverpool-born midfielder.
Not blessed with an abundance of pace, Nolan (and to an extent Josh Vela) share that most invaluable and innate of abilities - to be in the right place at the right time. Nolan was a regular goalscorer for Bolton Wanderers during the Big Sam Premier League years.
Scoring almost 40 league goals over seven seasons, he should have played for England, and only the ridiculous big club bias of the Steve McLaren (he's got a hair issssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssland) years stopped him from reaching that illustrious stage.
Kevin. Sorry for being mean. Hindsight makes fools of us all. Thank you for your efforts and your goals.
