Transfer News: Bolton Wanderers to Sign Striker

Be still my beating heart

It seems that the midweek 2-1 friendly win over Bury has seen Bolton Wanderers finally take the decision to sign ex-Watford striker Obi Ogo on a free transfer (of course it’s free).

Once given a trial by Manchester United, and having been on trial at Bolton earlier in September, Wanderers have made the call and it is believed that the striker will sign in the coming days.

Born in Nigeria, Ogo was once believed to be a target for Liverpool and Arsenal in his younger days although, like most players we sign, seems to have lost his way lately hence the trial at Bolton.

Given the lack of options we have up front - as in Gary Madine and seemingly nobody else - it comes as no shock to see Phil Parkinson move to strengthen his frontline although given Obi’s lack of experience at first team level it remains to be seen whether he will be given much exposure in the Championship as Wanderers battle forlornly against relegation.

Either way, we wish him luck.
