Following on from the 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday, Bolton Wanderers will hope to return to winning ways this weekend against Barnsley at The Macron.

In recent times, Wanderers have enjoyed playing against The Tykes, having been victorious five out of the last six games. Bolton had also not lost against Barnsley for nearly twenty years. Wanderers' last win against Barnsley came in the two sides last meeting three years ago, with a Jermaine Beckford goal sealing a 1-0 win.

This season, Barnsley are currently seven points ahead of Bolton in 18th place. Paul Heckingbottom's side come to The Macron having lost their last three games without scoring. So they're obviously going to score tomorrow.

Team News

Wanderers will be without David Wheater through suspension, after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season last Saturday. Expect Reece Burke to slot into the starting line up in his place.

For Barnsley, Lloyd Isgrove, Adam Jackson and Dimitri Cavare are all still out injured. Stevie Mallan could feature after recovering from a thigh strain.

Form

Bolton Wanderers - DDWDDL

Barnsley - WWDLLL

Match Odds

Wanderers are favourites for the game at 6/4. A Barnsley win gets you odds of 9/5 and a draw is 23/10.

Prediction

Given Barnsley's recent form, I'll go with a 2-1 Wanderers win. Sammy Ameobi winner late on.
