As reported by The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Bolton Wanderers midfielder Josh Vela is a man in demand. Earlier this week, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday were all rumoured to be keeping a close eye on Vela.
Now, it seems that Derby County lead the race to sign Josh Vela.

Obviously, it’s all gossip until an actual bid comes in for Vela. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
Like I put the other day, losing Josh Vela would be a huge blow to Wanderers. Vela, alongside players like Sammy Ameobi and Karl Henry, have helped turn around Wanderers’ poor form at the start of the season.
Vela was also vital in helping Wanderers getting promoted back to The Championship last season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions.
Obviously, Wanderers don’t have millions to spend on new players in January, so the club have had to sell other key players to help run the club.
Rob Holding and Zach Clough have previously been sold to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest respectively for figures in the region of £2 to £3 million.
