Bolton Wanderers will be hoping for an early Christmas present in the shape of three points, when they face fellow struggling side Burton Albion at The Macron.

The definition of a six pointer, both teams will be hoping on racking up as many points as possible in the busy December period.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides ever in league football. Wanderers have only ever faced Burton one before competitively, with Burton winning that game 1-0 in the 1st round of the League Cup back in 2015.

A run of three consecutive defeats has sent Burton to the bottom of the league, although they are only two points behind Bolton. A win for Wanderers is vital, with games against promotion chasers Cardiff City, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United later this month.

Team News

Adam Le Fondre is likely to miss out after suffering with tonsillitis all week, whilst Darren Pratley will have a late fitness test to see if he can take part.

For Burton, former Wanderers Marvin Sordell and Stephen Warnock are likely to play. Burton will probably be without Matty Lund and Joe Mason.

Odds

Wanderers are the clear favourites, with odds of 19/20. A Burton win is going for 16/5, whilst a draw is 9/4.

Match Prediction

Arguably the biggest game of the season so far, I reckon Wanderers have got this one covered. 2-0, with Madine and Buckley getting the goals.
