As part of their Winter break schedule, German Third Division side FC Magdeburg will face Bolton Wanderers in a mid-season friendly.

FC Magdeburg, who are two points clear at the top of the German Third Division, will face Wanderers at the end of a four day mid-season trip to the North West.

Magdeburg’s full schedule is as follows (through a German to English translation):

Already on the following Saturday, the 1. FC Magdeburg will make its test match trip, which takes place in the English city of Manchester from 06.01.2018 to 09.01.2018 and is expected to play there two friendly matches against the English teams Fleetwood Town and Bolton Wanderers.

The final test of the 1. FC Magdeburg denies in the stadium of friendship, when Blue-White meets on Sunday, 14.01.2018 at 15:00 clock away on NOFV-Nordost Regionalliga-Spitzenreiter FC Energie Cottbus.

The dates at a glance:

02.01.2018 - 12:00 o'clock training start

05.01.2018 - 17:00 Uhr Wernesgrüner-Cup in Magdeburg (GETEC-Arena)

06.01.2018 - Start Testspielreise England (Manchester)

07.01.2018 - 13:30 - Fleetwood Town - 1. FC Magdeburg (Fleetwood Town Training Ground)

08.01.2018 - Bolton Wanderers - 1. FC Magdeburg (kick-off time and venue still open)

09.01.2018 - End of Testspielreise (Match Travel)

It’s reported that over 1000 fans want to travel to England to watch Magdeburg face Fleetwood and Bolton. What a fan base.

The friendly, which I presume will be played at the training ground, comes two days after Wanderers’ 3rd Round FA Cup game against Huddersfield Town.
