Happy New Year from The Lion of Vienna Suite

Here’s to 2018

Another year over. 2017 was an interesting year to be a Bolton Wanderers fan.

The club achieved promotion back to The Championship at the first time of asking, finishing 2nd in Phil Parkinson’s first season with the club.

Matches such as Southend away, Port Vale away and the promotion clinching game against Peterborough on the last day of the 2016/2017 season will live long in the memories of Wanderers fans.

Especially for one of the sites’ founders, Mark Yesilevskiy.

Having supported Wanderers for many years from across the pond, Mark finally got the chance to come to Bolton whilst on his Honeymoon back in April. And what a match to pick. A 3-0 win to clinch promotion, followed by a pitch invasion and a trophy presentation. It doesn’t get better than that.

You can read Mark’s write up of that brilliant day by clicking here.

The club also celebrated twenty years since departing Burnden Park, as well as twenty years playing at The Reebok/Macron.

As for The Lion of Vienna Suite itself, we’ve had a pretty good year. We broke records in the Summer with our monthly visitors, so thank you to everyone who has read, commented and shared any of our articles this year.

Also, all the LOVS writers chipped in to sponsor Bolton Wanderers Ladies player Gemma Yeldrem for this season.

The women’s team are currently fifth in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division 1, which is fantastic.

Finally, i’d like to say thank you to all the people who have contributed towards the site in 2017. We’ve lost some great writers this year, but we’ve also gained some great writers as well.

For everyone who has tweeted, commented or contributed with an article for LOV, thank you.

Enjoy the rest of the night.

Happy New Year!

Here’s to what will hopefully be a year to remember for Bolton Wanderers.
