After Saturday's thumping 4-1 victory against Walsall, Bolton Wanderers will be looking to make it back-to-back wins for the first time since the end of December against Rochdale. Dale, managed by Bolton born Keith Hill, have recently dropped out of the Play-Off places, and will hope to get the result to push them back into contention for promotion.
Wanderers will be hoping to do better than when the two sides last met. Rochdale ended up winning a dour game 1-0 at Spotland back in September.
This will only be the sixteenth meeting between Bolton Wanderers and Rochdale, of which Bolton have won eight, whilst Rochdale have only won twice.
A win for Bolton could see them go within a point of second place side Scunthopre. Three points could be vital with tough away fixtures against Bradford City and Sheffield United coming up.
Man of the moment Chris Long will face a late fitness test after picking up an hamstring injury at the weekend. Mark Howard could return to the starting line-up in place of Ben Alnwick, although it's probably more likely that Phil Parkinson will stick with the same team from the Walsall win. Darren Pratley, Lawrie Wilson and Mark Davies remain sidelined with long-term injuries.
For Rochdale, striker Calvin Andrew could return to the starting eleven after featuring as a substitute in Saturday's draw with Fleetwood. Josh Lillis, Matty Lund, Steven Davies are all out with knee problems, whilst Joe Bunney is suffering from a metatarsal fracture.
