Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers to sign ex-Reading & Galatasaray Midfielder

Big wow

Last night, friend of the site Marc Iles revealed that former Reading and Galatasaray midfielder Jem Karacan was present at the Bolton Wanderers v Bristol Rovers shambles game.

Who is Karacan?

London born to a Turkish father, he made his name at Reading between 2007 and 2015, where he made 155 appearances, scoring 11 goals, including 21 games in the Premier League.

He would however make his debut on loan at Bournemouth in October 2007, scoring once in 13 games.

He left Reading in 2015, joining Turkish giants Galatasaray on a free transfer, though he would only make two appearances for the club. Searching his name on Twitter only brings about criticism from the Galatasaray fans, so I wouldn't advise doing that if I was you.

He was loaned to Bursaspor in February 2016 until the end of the Turkish league season, where he made nine appearances without troubling the scorers.

Since then, his Galatasaray contract was cancelled and he has been without a club - that is - it seems, until now.

Failed trials with Norwich City and local relegation certainties Wigan Athletic followed, before he pitched up at Wanderers last night.

Be still, my beating heart.
