To The Love of My Life - Part 2

I knew you could do it

The Wanderers fans invade the Macron pitch

What a day. What a performance. What a team.

I knew I could believe in you.

Mark Howard, your goal was secure throughout. Another clean sheet to add to your tally.

Dorian Dervite. Not only solid at the back, you provided a peach of a cross for the opener. What an assist.

David Wheater - you did it again. Today, you wrote your name into Bolton Wanderers' history. Player of the Year, and thoroughly deserved.

Mark Beevers, your tackle in the first half when the visitors look destined to equalise changed the course of the game.

Andy Taylor, you left everything out on that pitch. I hope I see you in a Bolton Wanderers shirt again.

Filipe Morais, you terrified yet another League One full back. When we needed a talisman to kick start our forward play, you provided. Thank you Mr Postman.

Jay Spearing, the heartbeat. You did the ugly jobs well, and the important jobs better.

Josh Vela, you were immense. The link up play with Morais in the first half, and your solo effort to craft the third goal in the second, were critical. Well done, young man. You’ve earned every plaudit.

Jem Karacan. What a finish. You settled the nerves and kept us ticking along with sharp passes in midfield. I'd quite like to see you play for the Wanderers again.

Adam Le Fondre, I just knew you'd score when it mattered. When we needed a goalscorer, you were there. Your reaction when the ball smashed into the back of the net said it all - you're a Wanderer.

Gary Madine, you put in your best performance of the season. Your link up play with Alf was flawless. Everything we did that was good came through you. Play like that next season, and you won't go wrong, whether that's at The Macron or elsewhere.

Phil Parkinson, you did exactly what I'd hoped and expected. You set the team up to get the job done, and do it they did. You've turned this club around when it seemed destined for oblivion. Your name will now be mentioned in the same breath as Rioch and Allardyce. Well done, gaffer.

One more game. 90 minutes. Once more unto the breach. One more win. That's all we asked. You did it in style. Bolton Wanderers, the love of my life.
