According to The Southend Echo, Bolton Wanderers have joined the race to sign Southend midfielder Ryan Leonard. The article states:
"BOLTON Wanderers and Millwall have joined Sheffield United in wanting to sign Blues midfielder Ryan Leonard. Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin has already knocked back two bids from the Blades for Leonard.
And Southend boss Phil Brown insists the club remain determined to keep hold of their player of the year, despite an increased level of interest."
25 year old Ryan Leonard has one year left to run on his current contract. Leonard has been with Southend since 2011, scoring 23 goals in 236 games. Leonard began his career with Plymouth Argyle, but only played once before moving.
Leonard is predominantly a centre mid, but can also play at right back and right midfield.
Obviously, any move is dependent on the transfer embargo being lifted.
Would Leonard be a good signing? Let us know in the comments box below.
