The latest transfer tittle-tattle has Bolton Wanderers, now of the Championship, chasing Manchester City for Bersant Celina, a Kosovan of Yugoslavian descent.

Celina grew up in Norway, and began his career with Strømsgodset IF. In 2012, he was offered a scholarship by City, signing pro two seasons later in 2014.

He made his City debut in January 2016 in the FA Cup, coming on as a late sub against Norwich City in a 3–0 away win.[8] Later he also made his Premier League appearance by playing as a substitute in a 3–1 home defeat against Leicester City. His first start came in an FA Cup fifth round match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

An attacking midfielder, he spent the last season impressing on loan at FC Twente, where, playing as a no.10, he scored five goals in 27 games.

It remains to be seen whether this rumour will have legs, but he has the pedigree that we are looking for. Despite the current trend of re-signing the League One lads as a priority, Wanderers would be foolish to stop looking for superior players to take their places.
