Bolton Wanderers Ladies first team have announced a new home and a range of exciting sponsorship opportunities following their promotion to the Women's Premier League last season.

The club will now play home games at the Kensite Stadium, home of Atherton Collieries, during the upcoming campaign. The Ladies have called the Eddie Davies Academy home over the last few seasons which, given its status as a a training establishment, wasn't feasible for matches despite its undoubted level of facilities.

Bolton Ladies' secretary Darren Butler told us: "Those facilities were without doubt one of the best in the league and have helped us attract players and progress, but we felt they were not really suitable to encourage supporters to come down and watch the games.

"We wanted to find a location that was local, and that would allow us to create a club feeling and to try and grow a fan base. An ideal partnership seemed to be Atherton Collieries due to locality, the facilities and the obvious passion that the area has in supporting BWFC as well as the Colls.

"When we approached them they were more than generous in trying to secure a partnership agreement, which has been done. I believe they are just as enthusiastic as we are in looking forward to hosting us as well as their own excitement for their campaign having gained promotion to the Evostick League."

The Ladies will play their home games at 2pm on Sundays when the new season kicks off in August, and progress can be followed on their Twitter and Facebook pages and soon to be launched new website, as well as via the Women's Premier League itself. There will be a small entry fee for adults, but season ticket holders for the mens' team can gain free entry on production of their season tickets.

Bolton Ladies' opponents in the Women's Premier League will be: Newcastle United, Chester-le-Street, Barnsley, Leeds United, Hull City, Mossley Hill, Liverpool Feds, Brighouse Town, Morecambe, Chorley and Crewe.

Sponsorship opportunities

Ladies' football has come under the spotlight for the wrong reasons recently, as Notts County Ladies were disbanded just two days before the start of the Women's Super League back in April.

But the club has launched a new range of sponsorship schemes that it feels are the best in the league. They recently attracted a crowd of almost 300 people to an end of season friendly at the Macron Stadium, and are keen to encourage this level of support for the new season.

Darren told us: "We have a whole host of sponsorship schemes available as the costs involved will rise - especially travelling, hospitality, and officials - and the club is very much self-funded, which is the norm for clubs at this level. Whilst the Women's game is growing we have already seen the loss of Notts County Ladies due to financial issues so we are not looking to progress beyond realistic means.

"I am sure fans will find the Kensite Stadium a very hospitable place to watch the games and it would be great for the Ladies to get a crowd on to watch their efforts in trying to establish themselves at Premier League level."
