According to The Evening Chronicle, Bolton Wanderers are one of a number of clubs that are interested in a loan move for Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong.
The article states:
“Newcastle United are preparing to send Adam Armstrong on loan for the first half of next season.
The England Under-20 international picked up a World Cup winners medal after starring in the tournament this month but the player’s representatives are understood to have been instructed to find Armstrong a suitable club in time for the start of the season.
The Geordie spent last season at Sky Bet Championship outfit Barnsley were he played 35 times and netted six goals.
Armstrong had previously scored 20 goals in 40 games for Coventry City in League One in the 2015/16 season.
Now, he is expected to be sent out to an EFL club and while some fans think Armstrong is worth another look at United, the Magpies are trying to slim down a 34 man squad in time for July 3.
Just like last summer, there are a number of clubs interested in taking Armstrong on loan.
Sources in the North-West say newly promoted Championship side Bolton Wanderers are keen to take Armstrong to the Macron Stadium while a clutch of League One clubs have also enquired.”
Adam Armstrong, 20, would certainly be an interesting option for Wanderers. With plenty of experience in League One and The Championship, as well as international experience, Armstrong could be a shrewd loan signing.
